Lions Prepare For Upcoming Season
Updated on 11/18/2024
Fall is in the air around the Philadelphia region, which means high school basketball is right around the corner. In less than a month, it turns to go time for the Lions, who are ready to turn over a new page in O'Hara basketball. O'Hara will kick off their regular season on November 30th when they travel to Abington Heights. While last year contained many exciting points throughout the season, the Lions are hoping this year brings more consistent results. O'Hara's 2023-2024 campaign was highlighted by exciting victories in league play against the likes of Devon Prep and rival, Monsignor Bonner. O'Hara graduated seven seniors in 2024, many of whom were key members of O'Hara's rotation. While some of the faces within their lineup this year may be new, they still possess a ton of talent. Another new face on the sideline for the Lions this year will be head coach, Ryan Krawczeniuk. In the spring of 2024, O'Hara announced Krawczeniuk as the new face of the program. Coach, Ryan Krawczeniuk, comes to O'Hara with a plethora of basketball knowledge and a drive to succeed. Prior to leading the charge for the Lions, Krawczeniuk was the Director of Basketball Operations for East Coast Power, an AAU organization based out of King of Prussia. As the season approaches, Krawczeniuk and crew have been in the gym working to prepare for the season ahead. While the Philadelphia Catholic League is competitive for many sports, basketball is second to none. The Catholic League provides some of the best high school basketball in the whole state. The Lions will face off against some fierce competition this year including teams like Roman Catholic, Neumann Gorretti, and Father Judge. Facing tough competition regularly throughout the season should hopefully prepare O'Hara for important games when February and March roll around. With the wintry cold on its way, the Lions will be locked in the gym preparing for battle. The Lions have been patiently waiting for their opportunity, they'll soon be able to show the world who the new Lions are.
